AfIGF 2026 opens call for session proposals and speakers
The Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) is inviting stakeholders to submit session proposals and speaker nominations for its 2026 meeting in Accra, Ghana.
The Africa Internet Governance Forum has opened its call for session proposals and speakers for AfIGF 2026.
The forum will take place in Accra, Ghana, from 2 to 5 November 2026. It will be hosted by the Government of Ghana in partnership with the Africa IGF Secretariat.
AfIGF is a regional multistakeholder forum where governments, regulators, civil society, the technical community, academia, businesses, youth representatives, parliamentarians, the judiciary, and international organisations discuss digital policy issues affecting Africa.
The 2026 theme is ‘Advancing Africa’s Digital Future Through Innovation, Inclusion, and Trust.’ The programme will focus on how digital technologies can support sustainable growth, resilience, and development across the continent.
The call invites proposals that are practical, inclusive, and action-oriented. Organisers are seeking sessions that support dialogue across sectors and contribute to policy discussions on Africa’s digital future.
Proposals may address artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, digital inclusion, cybersecurity, digital trust, gender and youth participation, online safety, platform governance, digital public infrastructure, climate change, and digital sovereignty.
The forum will begin on 2 November with Day 0 activities. These will include dedicated spaces for youth, children, parliamentarians, members of the judiciary, newcomers, and other stakeholder groups.
The main programme will run from 3 to 5 November. It will include high-level policy dialogues, a leaders track, intergenerational dialogue, workshops, plenary sessions, open forums, and networking opportunities.
The call is open to organisations, institutions, networks, and individuals. Policymakers, researchers, civil society actors, technical experts, academics, private sector representatives, youth leaders, parliamentarians, and members of the judiciary are invited to contribute.
The call opened on 19 June 2026. Session proposals and speaker nominations must be submitted by 19 July 2026.
