AFRINIC opens second consultation on proposed constitutional amendments
AFRINIC has opened a second community consultation on proposed amendments to its Constitution, with feedback accepted until 21 August 2026.
AFRINIC’s Bylaws Review Committee (BRC) has published a draft of the proposed amended Constitution for a second round of community consultation.
The consultation follows an initial review in which the Committee considered submissions from across the AFRINIC community. The BRC said it analysed the feedback and considered legal and regulatory requirements, corporate governance principles, operational needs and AFRINIC’s long-term sustainability when developing the proposed amendments.
The consultation platform allows participants to review the existing constitutional provisions alongside the proposed amendments and their rationale. Comments can be submitted on individual provisions.
The consultation is open until 21 August 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Following the consultation, the BRC will review the submissions and make revisions where appropriate. The final draft will then undergo an independent external legal review before being submitted to the AFRINIC Board.
If approved by the Board, the proposed amended Constitution will be presented to AFRINIC members for consideration at a Special General Members Meeting.
