The Civil Society Alliances for Digital Empowerment (CADE) hub is organised around 11 key topics: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Child Safety Online, Critical Internet Resources (CIR), Cybersecurity, Digital Inclusion, Encryption, Freedom of Expression Online, Gender Rights Online, Privacy and Data Protection, Standards, and Violent Extremism Online.

While this classification helps group related digital policy topics into broader categories, it's important to note that many of these issues are closely interconnected and often overlap across clusters. The reader should keep in mind that none of these areas functions in a silo, so these linkages are significant.

This taxonomy was developed specifically for the CADE project, with the goal of making internet governance and digital standards more accessible to civil society. Through concise and informative texts, it introduces readers to the key issues in each area. Since it is primarily intended for civil society organisations, the content also includes suggestions on how CSOs can actively engage in related discussions.
