EU Commission allocates €63.2 million for AI, health, and online safety projects
New EU funding calls will support AI use in healthcare, digital skills, and safer online environments across Member States.
The European Commission has opened funding calls worth €63.2 million under the Digital Europe Programme to support AI, digital health, skills development, and online safety.
Part of the funding includes €9 million for AI-based medical imaging, aimed at supporting early detection of diseases. Another €24 million will fund digital health services linked to the European Health Data Space.
Additional funding will support training in advanced digital skills (€12.5 million), tools to help companies comply with EU rules (€8.5 million), and research on online information integrity (€6 million). Smaller allocations include support for a coordination hub and programme dissemination activities.
The calls are open until 1 October 2026 and form part of broader EU efforts to support digital innovation and AI deployment.
