NRO publishes full report and data from ICP-2 principles questionnaire

The Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) has published the qualitative analysis and datasets from the global questionnaire on proposed updates to the ICP-2 principles. The consultation, held between 8 October and 6 December 2024, received 298 submissions across all Regional Internet Registry communities.

The newly released materials include a detailed summary of community input and the raw questionnaire data in both PDF and CSV formats. According to the NRO NC, the summary aims to support drafting of the updated ICP-2 document, report back to the communities, and inform future implementation of any revised principles.

The report emphasises that the summary does not reflect the NRO NC’s opinions or assessments. Instead, it consolidates feedback from respondents, who rated each proposed principle on a five-point scale and provided written comments. The analysis notes a high number of duplicate submissions, which were merged but still reflected transparently in the datasets. In cases where a respondent’s rating conflicted with the substance of their written comment, the analysis prioritised the content.

The NRO NC will continue reviewing this input, alongside comments received through ICANN’s public-comment process, as it works toward a revised version of ICP-2.
