WSIS+20 High-level Meeting begins today

The High-level Meeting of the UN General Assembly on the twenty-year review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) opens today, marking the start of two days of plenary discussions and negotiations on the WSIS+20 outcome document. Delegations will deliver statements in line with General Assembly resolution 79/277, ahead of the anticipated adoption of the WSIS+20 outcome document.

The meeting comes after several rounds of consultations and revisions, with Revision 2 reflecting the most recent set of agreed amendments proposed by member states and stakeholders. The High-level Meeting will provide the formal space for governments to articulate their priorities for the future of the global digital cooperation framework.

All sessions on December 16 and 17 are being broadcast live on UN Web TV, allowing stakeholders worldwide to follow the proceedings in real-time.
