UK initiative targets digital and financial exclusion among low-income adults

A new UK-based collaboration between digital inclusion charity Good Things Foundation and pension provider People’s Partnership aims to support low-income and digitally excluded adults in developing essential financial skills online.

Announced on 6 August 2025, the initiative will expand the free Learn My Way platform with a new financial education module co-developed by the two organisations. It will also include a digital journey audit and a series of webinars through the National Digital Inclusion Network.

The People’s Partnership, which manages the People’s Pension scheme, brings its financial planning expertise to the project, marking its deeper involvement in social outreach beyond pension services.

‘This partnership is about breaking down the barriers that stop people from confidently engaging with their financial future,’ said Helen Milner, group chief executive of Good Things Foundation. She noted that the initiative targets those who are both digitally and financially excluded—groups often overlooked in mainstream education and policy.

Nicola Sinclair, head of responsible business at People’s Partnership, highlighted the shared commitment to inclusion: “Everyone deserves access to tools and knowledge to enable them to plan for their future. That means making sure no one is left behind in the digital age.”
