LACNIC announces relocation of LACNIC 46 and LACNOG 2026 meeting
The LACNIC 46 and LACNOG 2026 event, originally planned to take place in Guatemala in October 2026, will be moved to a different location following recent developments in the country. A new host location has not yet been confirmed.
Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry has announced that the LACNIC 46 and LACNOG 2026 meeting will be relocated from Guatemala to another, as yet undisclosed, location. The decision follows recent developments in Guatemala and the introduction of exceptional measures by national authorities in January 2026.
According to the announcement, the relocation is intended to ensure the safety of participants and to maintain broad community participation. Organisers indicated that making the decision several months ahead of the scheduled October event was aimed at reducing disruption for local, regional, and global participants, including those involved in travel planning and programme preparation. The event is jointly organised with the Latin American and Caribbean Network Operators Group.
