IGF MAG approves four Policy Networks for 2026
The IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group has approved four Policy Networks for its 2026 intersessional work programme, following a review of more than 60 community proposals.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) has approved four Policy Networks for the 2026 intersessional work programme: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and open digital infrastructure.
The decision follows a review of more than 60 proposals submitted by the IGF community. The selected networks are intended to provide year-round spaces for multistakeholder dialogue, collaboration and the development of policy-oriented outputs.
During its meeting in Nairobi from 24 to 26 June, the MAG discussed the scope and implementation of the four workstreams. Members also supported changes to the IGF’s intersessional work architecture, including bringing together the previous Policy Network and Best Practice Forum formats under a single Policy Network framework with a best-practice component.
The next steps include identifying facilitators, co-facilitators and contributors for each network and determining how elements from the submitted proposals can be incorporated into the 2026 work programme. The IGF Secretariat will also coordinate expressions of interest from volunteers and recruitment of consultants to support the workstreams.
The approved networks will operate throughout the 2026 IGF cycle and are expected to produce outputs that can contribute to digital policy discussions at local, national, regional and global levels.
