IGF 2026 selects 80 workshops across five thematic areas
The IGF has selected 80 workshops for its 2026 programme, covering issues ranging from digital infrastructure and innovation to human rights, cybersecurity and information integrity.
The 21st Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2026 will take place from 14 to 18 December in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together stakeholders to discuss a broad range of Internet governance issues. As part of preparations for the meeting, the IGF has selected 80 workshops for its 2026 programme.
The workshops are organised under five broad thematic areas: Economy, Innovation & Sustainability; Governance, Cooperation & Institutions; Infrastructure, Access & Technical Foundations; Rights, Inclusion & Human Development; and Trust, Safety & Information Integrity.
The thematic structure covers both technical and policy dimensions of digital development. The infrastructure and access area focuses on the foundations needed for connectivity and digital services, while the economy and innovation track addresses issues related to technology, economic development and sustainability.
The governance and institutions area covers cooperation and institutional approaches to Internet governance. The rights and inclusion track focuses on the human and social dimensions of digital technologies, including inclusion and human development.
The final thematic area focuses on trust, safety and information integrity, covering issues affecting the reliability and safety of the digital environment.
The selected workshops will form part of the IGF 2026 programme in Nairobi.
