ICANN seeks community input for 2027 leadership selection
ICANN’s 2027 Nominating Committee is asking the community to provide feedback on the skills, experience and qualities it should consider when selecting candidates for several leadership positions.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Nominating Committee (NomCom) has invited community members to provide input for its 2027 selection cycle.
The NomCom operates independently of ICANN’s Board, Supporting Organisations and Advisory Committees and is responsible for selecting candidates for a number of leadership positions across the organisation.
For the 2027 cycle, the committee will select three members of the ICANN Board of Directors, three members of the At-Large Advisory Committee, two members of the Generic Names Supporting Organization Council and one member of the Country Code Names Supporting Organization Council.
The committee is seeking feedback on the guidance and candidate descriptions used during the 2026 selection process, as well as suggestions on additional skills, experience and other qualities that should be considered in the next cycle. Community input can also address different stages of the process, including recruitment, applications, interviews, candidate assessment and final selection.
Submissions should explain the suggestion, indicate which position or part of the process it relates to, and include supporting reasons or examples. Submissions must also include the contributor’s name, affiliation, if any, and stakeholder group or constituency.
Comments should be sent to nomcom-communityinput@icann.org by 15 October 2026. The submissions will be published, and the NomCom will review the input during the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
