ICANN opens applications for Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy 2026
ICANN has announced that applications for the 2026 Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy will open on 5 March, with the programme scheduled for July in Busan, Republic of Korea.
ICANN has announced that the application period for the Regional Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2026 will open on 5 March 2026 at 00:00 Korea Standard Time.
The programme, hosted by ICANN and the Korea Internet & Security Agency, will take place from 20 to 24 July 2026 in Busan, Republic of Korea. APIGA is a capacity-development initiative focused on internet governance for young people in the Asia Pacific region.
Launched in 2016, the programme marks its tenth anniversary in 2026. It includes an annual regional event in Korea, complemented by local APIGA events across the Asia Pacific.
APIGA provides training on internet governance fundamentals and introduces participants to regional and global forums such as ICANN, the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre and the Internet Engineering Task Force. Applicants must be aged 18 to 35 and reside in the Asia Pacific region. Further details are available on the APIGA 2026 website.
