ICANN moves 2026 Annual General Meeting from Oman to Bali

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has announced that its ICANN87 Annual General Meeting will take place in Bali, Indonesia, from 17 to 22 October 2026, replacing the previously announced host city of Muscat, Oman.

According to ICANN, the decision was made in consultation with local partners and meeting hosts in Oman. The organisation said the move was intended to ensure that the meeting can proceed as planned while supporting broad participation from across its global community.

The meeting will be held at the Bali International Convention Centre, located within The Westin Resort Nusa Dua. ICANN said the venue met its requirements for capacity, facilities, and availability during the scheduled dates.

ICANN Board Chair Tripti Sinha said the organisation’s priority was to maintain the timetable for the Annual General Meeting and ensure effective participation from community members worldwide.

The organisation pointed to recent developments affecting regional airspace as a factor in the decision. ICANN noted that accessibility, travel reliability, and the ability to participate both in person and remotely are important considerations for meetings that regularly attract participants from more than 150 countries.
