ICANN issues final call for Community Excellence Award nominations

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has reminded that the nomination period for the ICANN Community Excellence Award will close on 8 January 2026 at 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time. The nomination period opened on 10 November 2025.

Established in 2014, the Community Excellence Award recognises individuals from the ICANN community who have made sustained and substantive contributions to consensus-based policy development and to the functioning of ICANN’s multistakeholder model. The award emphasises long-term engagement over single achievements, highlighting a commitment to collaborative processes across the ICANN ecosystem.

Nominations must be submitted through ICANN’s official nomination form and include detailed information explaining how the nominee meets the award criteria. Self-nominations are not permitted. Questions regarding the nomination process or requests for supporting information can be directed to ICANN via the dedicated award email address.

The recipient or recipients of the 2026 Community Excellence Award will be announced in March 2026 during the ICANN85 Public Meeting, which will take place in Mumbai, India. Further details about the award and past recipients are available through the ICANN Community Wiki.
