The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has named Charles Mok as chair of its 2027 Nominating Committee (NomCom), with Ron da Silva appointed as chair-elect. The appointments were announced on 12 October 2026.

The NomCom is responsible for selecting people for key positions across ICANN, including seats on the ICANN Board of Directors and the Public Technical Identifiers Board. It also selects members of several advisory and supporting organisation bodies, including the At-Large Advisory Committee, the Country Code Names Supporting Organization Council and the Generic Names Supporting Organization Council.

The committee is designed to exercise independent judgement in its selection decisions, without external direction or control. Its appointments help shape leadership across ICANN’s technical coordination and policy development structures.
