Your Clicks, Your Rights

Forus has launched Your Clicks, Your Rights, a 10-episode multilingual video series that examines how digital technologies and policies shape human rights, equity and inclusion. Each short episode explains a core issue in today’s digital environment, from online freedoms and data governance to cybersecurity, AI, gender justice and civic participation, using examples from Latin America, Africa and the MENA region. Your Clicks, Your Rights – Episode 1: What Are Digital Rights and Freedoms?

The series forms part of the #Let’sTalkDigital campaign supported by CADE and is grounded in civil society research, including CADE’s mapping study and regional case studies. Its purpose is to make complex digital policy questions accessible to broader audiences and to show how decisions about technology governance affect people’s lives and the conditions for democratic participation. It is designed for advocacy, public engagement and capacity-building efforts, helping organisations and communities understand where rights are strengthened and where risks are emerging.

Across ten episodes, the series will explore recurring themes, including unequal access to digital spaces, the growing impact of AI systems, the consequences of inadequate data protection, the tensions between security measures and personal freedoms, and the gendered dynamics of digital harm. By drawing on actual cases and civil society expertise, it connects global debates to local experiences, showing how digital policies can either reinforce inequalities or support more inclusive and accountable governance.
