Amplifying Achievements of Digital Rights Advocacy through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR): Testimonies from Our Partners

23–24 September 2025

As part of the Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa (FIFAfrica) 2025, held from 22 to 26 September in Windhoek, Namibia, CIPESA organised a two-day workshop on 23 and 24 September 2025 titled ‘Amplifying Achievements of Digital Rights Advocacy through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR): Testimonies from Our Partners’.

The workshop brought together civil society organisations (CSOs) and digital rights advocates to strengthen their understanding of how the UPR mechanism can promote and protect human rights online. Participants shared first-hand experiences and success stories from across Africa, illustrating how engagement in the UPR process can amplify advocacy efforts, shape policy outcomes, and enhance accountability in digital rights governance.
