The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) will hold its 125th meeting in Shenzhen, China, from 14 to 20 March 2026. The IETF Hackathon and IETF Codesprint take place on the weekend. Events to help new participants get the most out of IETF meetings begin on 15 March afternoon.

IETF meetings are central to the organisation’s open standards development process. They provide a forum for technical discussion and collaboration on protocols, architectures, and operational practices that underpin the global internet. Work is carried out primarily through working group sessions, alongside plenary meetings and side discussions.

IETF 125 will include meetings of multiple working groups across different technical areas, plenary sessions, and opportunities for participation both in person and remotely. Participation is open to anyone with an interest in the technical evolution of the internet, subject to registration.

Additional information, including the meeting agenda, registration details, and participation guidance, is available on the official IETF 125 website.
