RightsCon 2026 will take place in Lusaka, Zambia, from 5 to 8 May 2026. The global summit is expected to bring together civil society organisations, policymakers, technologists, journalists, and human rights defenders to discuss the impact of digital technologies on human rights.

RightsCon is an international forum focused on the intersection of human rights and technology. The event provides a space for discussion on issues such as freedom of expression, privacy, data protection, digital inclusion, platform governance, and emerging technologies. It combines plenary sessions, workshops, roundtables, and networking opportunities, with strong participation from civil society alongside governments, the private sector, and the technical community.

The 2026 meeting in Lusaka continues RightsCon’s practice of rotating locations across regions, with a particular emphasis on amplifying perspectives from the Global South. Participation is open to interested stakeholders, subject to registration.

Further information, including programme details, registration timelines, and participation guidelines, is available on the official RightsCon website.
