ICANN85 Community Forum
The ICANN85 Community Forum will be held from 7 to 12 March 2026 in Mumbai, India, with both in-person and online participation available. The meeting website is now live, and registration is open for all attendees. Participants planning to join on-site must register by 6 March 2026.
As the final ICANN Public Meeting before the April 2026 opening of the next round of the New Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLD) Program, ICANN85 will play a central role in preparing the community for the policy, operational, and implementation work that lies ahead. The discussions are expected to focus on DNS security, technical coordination, and ongoing developments within ICANN’s Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees.
The forum will take place at the Jio World Convention Center and will be hosted by the National Internet Exchange of India. Bringing ICANN85 to Mumbai reflects the Asia-Pacific region’s growing importance in global Internet governance. India’s rapidly expanding internet ecosystem and active engagement in multistakeholder processes provide a relevant setting for community deliberations on the future of the DNS.
Throughout the week, ICANN85 will feature a combination of open sessions, working meetings, technical updates, and cross-community exchanges. Dedicated newcomer activities will help participants understand ICANN’s structures and contribute effectively to ongoing processes. ICANN aims to ensure an inclusive environment by providing full remote participation tools, transcript services, and real-time interpretation.
The meeting schedule will be published on 9 February 2026, on ICANN’s website. Further information and registration details are available on the ICANN85 Community Forum page.
