Africa Tech Policy Summit 2026 and 19th Kenya IGF
KICTANet will host the second edition of the Africa Tech Policy Summit in Nairobi from May 19 to 21, 2026.
The summit will be part of a week-long regional programme featuring workshops, exhibitions, the Kenya School of Internet Governance, and the Kenya Internet Governance Forum.
The Africa Tech Policy Summit will be held under the theme ‘Building Open-Source, Accessible and Democratic Digital Futures.‘ Discussions will focus on key digital policy priorities for the continent, including data and AI for sectoral innovation, democratic data governance, regional technology policy harmonisation, and inclusive digital ecosystems.
The 19th Kenya Internet Governance Forum will take place on May 21, 2026, as part of the summit programme. The Kenya IGF is an annual multistakeholder forum that brings together government, civil society, the private sector, the technical community, academia, and other stakeholders to discuss ICT and internet policy issues.
This year’s Kenya IGF theme is ‘Tech for Human Development: Policy, Innovation, and Inclusive Governance.‘ The forum will examine issues including home-grown technology solutions, responsible AI and emerging technologies, digital access gaps, and technology policies that support inclusive and sustainable growth.
The events are expected to provide a platform for regional and national dialogue on how digital technologies and policies can support rights, innovation, access, and human development across Africa and in Kenya.
