20 November 2024, as part of the Africa IGF in Addis Ababa
CIPESA together with KICTANet and the Center for International Private Enterprise [CIPE] co-hosted a session on Advancing Digital Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities in Africa’s Evolving Digital Landscape’, on 20 November 2024, as part of the Africa IGF in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (20-22 November 2024). The session attracted 26 participants from across stakeholder groups and highlighted equity in digital access and compliance with disability rights frameworks. It also presented findings from a continent-wide legal review, policy recommendations, and advocacy achievements such as the ratification of the ACHPR Protocol on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by Lesotho. These efforts fostered stronger coalitions, amplified the visibility of underrepresented communities, and contributed to policy progress.
