The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has published the 2026 Year in Review Report of its Nominating Committee (NomCom), documenting the committee’s activities since it convened at the end of the ICANN84 Annual General Meeting in October 2025.

A central figure in the report is the 223 completed applications received by the committee, a record for the 2026 cycle. The report also covers outreach, candidate assessment, final selections, key milestones, meetings and training, alongside a message from committee chair Tom Barrett.

The next committee, NomCom 2027, will take up its responsibilities following the conclusion of the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting in October 2026. It will be responsible for filling nine leadership positions across ICANN’s governance structures.

These include three seats on the ICANN Board of Directors, three positions on the At-Large Advisory Committee, one position on the Country Code Names Supporting Organization Council and two positions on the Generic Names Supporting Organization Council. The terms range from two to three years, depending on the role.

NomCom 2027 is expected to invite applications in late December 2026. Interested candidates can follow ICANN announcements for updates and consult the NomCom website for further information.
