W3C publishes first draft of Linked Web Storage Vocabulary
The Linked Web Storage Working Group has published a first draft of a Group Note defining the vocabulary used by the Linked Web Storage Protocol.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has published the first draft of a Group Note titled “Linked Web Storage Vocabulary.”
The draft was published on 14 July 2026 by the Linked Web Storage Working Group.
The document describes the vocabulary used by the Linked Web Storage Protocol. In this context, a vocabulary is a defined set of terms that systems can use to describe data consistently.
The vocabulary is based on RDF Schema (RDFS). RDF Schema is used to define classes and properties for data represented in RDF, the Resource Description Framework.
Linked Web Storage is part of work on web-based data storage using linked data principles. The vocabulary helps provide common terms for implementing and describing the protocol.
As a Group Note Draft, the document is informative and at an early stage. It is intended to support understanding and implementation of the Linked Web Storage Protocol, rather than serve as a final standard.
The publication provides developers and implementers with a reference for how the protocol’s concepts should be described in RDF-based systems.
