European Parliament updates factsheet on EU digital agenda

The European Parliament has updated its factsheet on the Digital Agenda for Europe, setting out the EU’s current priorities in digital policy.

The factsheet says the EU has shifted since 2024 from setting broad strategic goals to implementing rules on digital platforms, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital identity.

It presents the EU’s digital agenda as part of a wider effort to build a human-centred, secure and sustainable digital future. The focus is on trusted data flows, fair platform markets, responsible AI, interoperable digital identity and stronger cybersecurity.

The document also highlights the 2030 Digital Compass, which sets targets for digital skills, business transformation, digital infrastructure and online public services.

Key laws covered include the Digital Services Act, the Digital Markets Act, the AI Act, the Data Governance Act, the Data Act, the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act and the European Digital Identity framework.

The factsheet also notes the European Parliament’s role in shaping EU digital policy, including its work on AI, platform regulation, media freedom, political advertising, consumer protection and cybersecurity implementation.
