ICANN86 schedule published

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has published the schedule for the ICANN86 Policy Forum, scheduled to take place in Seville, Spain, from 8 to 11 June 2026.

The meeting will be held in hybrid format, allowing both in-person and remote participation. According to ICANN, the event will follow local working hours in Seville.

Policy Forums are one of ICANN’s three annual public meetings and focus primarily on policy development work across the organisation’s supporting organisations and advisory committees. Discussions typically cover domain name policy, internet governance coordination, DNS security, and implementation processes linked to ICANN’s operational work.

ICANN stated that remote participation tools will continue to be available for community members unable to travel. The organisation has increasingly relied on hybrid participation models since the pandemic period, integrating virtual engagement into its standard meeting structure.

The announcement also highlights “Prep Week”, scheduled for 20 and 21 May, which is designed to help participants prepare for policy discussions and navigate meeting processes ahead of the forum.

In-person registration remains open until 7 June, although ICANN noted that no on-site registration facilities will be available during the event.

The Seville meeting comes during a period of active policy work within ICANN, including preparations for the next round of new generic top-level domains and ongoing discussions related to DNS abuse, registration data, and internet governance coordination.
