European Commission announces AI Innovation Month for October–November 2026
The European Commission and the Irish Presidency of the Council will organise a month-long series of events on AI development and deployment across Europe, concluding with the European Apply AI Summit in Brussels.
A coordinated series of events focused on AI will take place across Europe between mid-October and mid-November 2026 under the banner of the European AI Innovation Month.
The initiative was announced by Executive Vice President Henna Virkkunen at the AI Impact Summit in India. It will be jointly organised by the European Commission and the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Over four weeks, the programme will include discussions and presentations on AI policy, research, and industrial deployment in Europe.
The European AI Innovation Month will begin on 14 October 2026 in Ireland and conclude on 17 November in Belgium with the European Apply AI Summit. The summit will be organised by the European Commission’s AI Office and will take place in Brussels, with an option for online participation.
The European Apply AI Summit will be the first such event following the publication of the EU’s Apply AI Strategy in October 2025. According to organisers, the summit will focus on sector-specific AI adoption, including initiatives in the public sector and key industries. High-level representatives and project leaders are expected to participate in discussions on future implementation.
A dedicated webpage listing associated events at both European and national levels is expected to be published in the coming months.
