Internet Society opens applications for 2025–2026 Youth Ambassador Program

The Internet Society has launched applications for its 2025–2026 Youth Ambassador Program, an initiative designed to train and elevate young leaders who want to shape the future of internet governance. Each year, only fifteen candidates from around the world are selected to join the cohort, gaining access to policy training, leadership development, and opportunities to represent youth perspectives at major global internet governance events.

The programme offers participants intensive online training on internet governance, along with skills-building in advocacy, communications, leadership, and project management. Selected Youth Ambassadors are matched with mentors from across the internet ecosystem and given the chance to attend a high-level internet governance event suited to their profile and regional context. The initiative emphasises building a global network of young professionals who can influence policy debates at national, regional, and international levels, while also strengthening community impact through local engagement.

Applicants must be between 18 and 30, demonstrate strong English-language and public-speaking skills, commit to four hours of weekly participation over a 12-month period, and have reliable internet access. The selection process includes an initial application review followed by an online course on internet governance, from which the top fifteen performers are chosen. Applications open on 18 November 2025 and close on 2 December 2025, with the final cohort announced in January 2026.
