ICANN publishes prep week schedule ahead of ICANN84 meeting

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has released the schedule for ICANN84 Prep Week, a series of online sessions designed to prepare participants for the ICANN84 Annual General Meeting. The main event will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from 25–30 October 2025, while Prep Week will run from 13–15 October 2025.

Prep Week consists of 12 sessions covering a wide range of Internet governance topics, including updates on the next round of new generic top-level domains (gTLDs), contractual compliance, Universal Acceptance (UA), and ICANN’s grant program. Other sessions will focus on the results of the two-year Registration Data Request Service (RDRS) pilot, financial planning, and progress on community engagement initiatives.

All Prep Week sessions will be held in English, with live interpretation in French and Spanish to ensure wider accessibility. Registered participants will receive event details by email, while remote participation links will be made available on the ICANN84 website 24 hours before each session. Recordings, transcripts, and session materials will also be published after the events.

Prep Week is intended to help the global Internet community engage more effectively during ICANN’s Annual General Meeting by providing updates, background briefings, and opportunities for early input. It has become an established part of ICANN’s calendar to ensure that discussions at the main meeting are informed and productive.
