ICANN opens applications for ICANN86 Fellowship Program

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has opened applications for its Fellowship Program for ICANN86, set to take place from 8–11 June 2026 in Seville, Spain. The program offers individuals from around the world the chance to engage directly in ICANN’s multistakeholder processes that shape the policies and technical coordination of the global internet.

Only alumni who have previously completed an ICANN Fellowship are eligible to apply for this Policy Forum round. Applications must be submitted by 10 December 2025 at 23:59 UTC, and the list of selected fellows will be published on 5 February 2026. Should ICANN86 be held virtually, the Fellowship Program will also take place online.

The ICANN Fellowship Program aims to strengthen global participation in internet governance by supporting individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities. Participants gain insight into areas such as policy development, domain name system (DNS) operations, and internet stability and security. By engaging new voices in its community, ICANN seeks to maintain a diverse, inclusive, and balanced multistakeholder model.
